Our Mission & Vision
Genion exists to reduce the physical burden on first responders while improving safety and dignity during extraction in challenging environments.
Our mission is to transform extraction and evacuation through engineering designed by frontline responders, for frontline responders.
Why Genion?
Genion was created to solve a problem first responders face every day: how to safely extract people and equipment from environments where conventional tools fail.
Built by paramedics and informed by real-world rescue experience, Genion combines patented tracked mobility with a deep focus on ergonomics, stability, and responder safety. The GENIE™ platform (Ground Ergonomic Navigation for Integrated Evacuation) is designed to reduce physical strain, lower injury risk, and enable controlled extraction across snow, sand, rock, mud, and other challenging terrain.
Unlike manual carries or conventional wheeled equipment, GENIE’s powered, zero-lift approach minimizes the need for heavy lifting and large teams. This helps responders operate more safely, efficiently, and with greater dignity for those being extracted, especially in remote, off-pavement, or austere environments.
Genion’s approach is grounded in patented innovation, field-informed design, and a commitment to building practical extraction solutions that meet the realities of modern rescue operations, where terrain, manpower, and safety matter as much as speed.
The Team

Jason has over two decades of frontline experience as a registered nurse and paramedic. He has dedicated his career to advancing patient care and responder safety in some of the world’s most demanding environments on a global scale.
Having worked across both public and private healthcare systems and served on missions spanning diverse and challenging terrains, Jason saw firsthand the physical toll and operational risks faced by paramedics during patient extrication and transport. This insight led him to found Genion Corp., a company committed to redefining rescue mobility through engineered innovation. Under his leadership, Genion has developed its patented GENIE all-terrain tracked stretcher system, seeking ISO and CSA accreditation which has bridged the gap between concept and operational deployment.
Jason’s vision blends clinical expertise, human-centered design, and advanced engineering to equip first responders with safer, smarter, and more adaptable rescue solutions
Dean has over 20 years of experience in both land and flight paramedicine. Dean has built a distinguished career grounded in clinical excellence, education, and innovation.
After sustaining a back injury in challenging terrain early in his career, Dean redirected his focus toward training and education during his practice, recognizing the importance of preparing responders to work clinically, safely and effectively in all environments.
This passion led to the creation of Premergency, a nationally recognized training and online learning organization that delivers advanced education for paramedics, municipalities, and healthcare providers across Canada.
As a business development advisor for Genion Corp., Dean contributes his extensive field experience and business leadership to support Genion’s mission—pioneering safer, more efficient patient transport solutions for first responders worldwide.
Robert Dodge is a retired Paramedic and Firefighter with more than 30 years of frontline emergency response experience. Throughout his career, Robert built a reputation for calm leadership, practical problem-solving, and unwavering commitment to patient and provider safety. His extensive work in both fire services and paramedicine gives him a unique dual-perspective on the operational challenges faced by first responders, especially in complex or remote environments.
As Genion’s Liaison Director, Robert leverages his decades of real-world expertise to strengthen industry relationships, guide field-driven product development, and ensure that the GENIE technology aligns with the needs of responders on the ground. His insights help bridge the gap between innovation and practical application, making him a key driver in Genion’s mission to transform rescue and transport care.
Engineering & Product Team
Genion’s Engineering and Product Team brings together a rare blend of frontline experience and technical expertise. Our team includes active and former paramedics, firefighters, welders, CAD designers, and seasoned ISO and CSA advisors who ensure every product meets the highest standards of safety and performance.
This unique combination of real-world emergency-response insight and advanced engineering capability allows us to design equipment built for the toughest environments—rugged terrain, extreme weather, and mission-critical operations.
From precision welding and prototyping to finite-element CAD modeling and standards-driven compliance, our team delivers solutions engineered for durability, ergonomic efficiency, and uncompromising reliability.

Research & Evidence Based
Genion’s innovation is grounded in rigorous, evidence-based research that highlights the urgent need for safer, more ergonomic patient transport solutions. Decades of data—including the foundational work of Dr. MacQuarrie and leading studies from emergency services and ergonomics research—show that traditional manual lifting remains one of the primary causes of musculoskeletal injuries among paramedics, firefighters, and rescue personnel.
Industry reports from organizations like Stryker further demonstrate the significant financial and operational burden these injuries place on services across North America. Genion’s tracked-stretcher technology directly addresses these identified risks by applying proven principles of biomechanics, friction reduction, and zero-lift movement.
Every aspect of the GENIE platform is informed by real-world field testing and research-driven design, ensuring that the product not only enhances patient safety but also protects the health, longevity, and operational performance of first responders.
